A Christmas Message
Christmas Greetings from the Sudbury
Shrine Club
Sudbury Shriners have long been
associated with Christmas Celebrations because of our long-established
Christmas Fruit Cake fundraising.
I
have no idea how many years our Sudbury Shriners have been doing this, but I
really feel that our Shriners Christmas Fruit Cakes have become an integral
part of the Christmas season here in Sudbury, Espanola and the Manitoulin.
Our fruit cake recipe, originally baked
for our Sudbury Shrine Club by Westons Bakeries is purported to have originated
from a Monastery north of Belleville and passed down over history… might this be true, it may well possess a
special “Christmas Folklore”…
The funds raised over many years have worked
miracles for children at our Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals, our Shriner’s
Children’s Transportation Fund and our own HSN Children’s Treatment Centre
Botox Program right here in Sudbury.
So, in the spirit of mystery, magic,
fellowship, celebration and hope that surrounds our concepts, beliefs and celebrations
of Christmas, Sudbury Shriners offer you our very best wishes.
Gord Fraser
President
May all your Christmas Wishes come true!
To all our Shrine friends and family, may you have a
Merry Christmas and super New Year.
Barry and Betty Tooley
Well
tis that season again, when we see so many members at the Club to participate
in cake sales, pay dues and enjoy the festive season parties.
It
has been an honour to have served President Gord and Lady Sandy and this
Executive and I look forward to new leadership each year.
The
social life of the club is thriving due to the hard work and dedication of many
members and ladies and I thank you for your leadership and support.
David and I spend many hours at the Club and are
very happy when you and your lady drop in to say hello, have a coffee or a
beverage and just chat.
That
is why we are there. To make you welcome, help you enjoy your club and
establish lasting friendships (and collect some hugs.
Come
Visit more often.
Season’s
greetings
